How to add participants to a survey?

Import participants manually or in bulk import using excel list

Watch Video:

  • To add the participants to a survey, go to respective customer and open the respective survey.

  • Once you are inside the survey click on MORE ACTIONS drop-down list and select Add Participants.


You will get three different options to add participants into your survey. Please go through all three different methods before your proceed as they are suitable for specific situation.

METHOD 1: Selecting participants from the list

If you have already added the participants while creating the CUSTOMER:

  • You will see the participants list.

  • Select those that you want to add to the survey.

  • Click on ADD PARTICIPANTS button and select Add selected (or Add all if you want to all the participants from the list.)


METHOD 2: Add new participants manually

  • If you want to add single participant at a time you can do so by clicking the tab Add new participant.

  • Filling in the participants details and click on ADD TO PARTICIPANT LIST button.

  • Now, you have added a participant in the customer level. To add participant to the survey, follow the process as shown in the METHOD 1.

The attributes field (marked with red line) will only be shown if you have created the dynamic attributes for the customer.

METHOD 3: Add participants in bulk using import function

When you are uploading participant using excel template, you will be in one of the two situation:

  1. My participants list only contains the participants that have never been added to the Culture Intelligence Platform.

  2. My participants list contains the participants that have already been added to the Culture Intelligence platform earlier (and the new participants as defined in 1

  • Click on Import participants tab

  • Download the excel template by clicking DOWNLOAD button next to Download template option. See the instruction on how to fill the import excel file.

  • Once you fill in the excel sheet with participants details, save it in your PC

  • Click on Choose excel to upload button and select the saved excel sheet from your PC.

  • After selecting import excel file, you will see the success message in green color. If error message is shown, please re-check the excel sheet and make sure that it follows the template guideline.

  • After uploading the excel file, click on ADD PARTICIPANTS button to add the participants imported from the excel file to the survey.

2. My participants list contains the participants that have already been added to the Culture Intelligence platform earlier (and new participants).

If your participants list contains the existing participants, instead of downloading the template file, you need to export the list of existing participants from the Culture Intelligence platform.

Follow the steps:

  • Go to respective customer

  • Click on participants

  • Click on EXPORT LIST

The exported list will look like this:

From this list, you can remove all the column after defined attributes (Column I, J, K & L in the above example) and use the list as the template file. You can add new participants in the same file following the instruction - How to fill in the participants import excel file? and upload it as shown below:

  • After selecting the import excel file, you will see the success message as shown below. If error message is shown, please re-check the excel sheet and make sure that it follows the template guideline.

  • After uploading the excel file, click on ADD PARTICIPANTS button to add the participants imported from the excel file to the survey.
